Course Rationale
Transportation is a familiar activity, as we routinely travel around local communities and the planet. Transportation involves not only moving people but also materials and goods from one point to another. We move materials because their value is increased depending on their location. The transportation systems and processes used to move these materials are vital to a thriving economy. For this reason transportation is a major system in the world. Students need an understanding of transportation because it fulfills personal and commercial needs and wants.
